Railroad

Benediktbeuern is located on the railroad line Munich - Kochel. You can reach Munich, Kochel am See and Penzberg every hour. The train station in Benediktbeuern is very close to the monastery.

Plane

From Munich airport take the S-Bahn line 1 or 8 to Munich main station, further: see train. Travel time: approx. 50 minutes.

Car

By car you can reach Benediktbeuern easily via the highway Munich - Garmisch-Partenkirchen (A95), exit Sindelsdorf, continue in the direction of Bichl on the B472 and then on the B11 to Benediktbeuern. Shortly before the railroad crossing, turn right to the monastery. Via the Munich - Salzburg highway (A8), take the Holzkirchen exit and drive via Bad Tölz to Benediktbeuern.

Parking

Sufficient parking spaces are available in the signposted large parking lot at Benediktbeuern Monastery.

Alte Schäfflerei

From the large parking lot you enter the monastery courtyard. Exit through the gateway on the right in a southerly direction. The Alte Schäfflerei with its main entrance is then on the right of the path. Alternatively, from the large parking lot, follow the footpaths to the right around the monastery. The Alte Schäfflerei welcomes you from the south, you will find the main entrance at the back of the building.
